Nightwulf|work: hi all
CE: hi
CE: how well is EXA supported? still only up/down or is composition and solid also done?
egbert: yangman: where do you see: GENERAL_PWRMGT (CLKIND:0x8) in rhd_regs.h?
egbert: yangman: i only see: GENERAL_PWRMGT = 0x0618,
egbert: yangman: the one you are seeing in the header is for R6xx and up.
ndim: If anyone reported here within the last 3.5 hours that I broke something... please do so again, I did not receive that.
ndim: :)
ndim: Eh. My first patch which made it into radeonhd was just about one year ago.
ndim: goes fetch a bithday cake.
nanonyme: Hmm, is there some known problem with the webgit?
marcheu: gitweb, and yes, it has been removed in favor of cgit
nanonyme: Agh. That probably means the project doesn't have an RSS feed anymore either.
nanonyme: Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to learn to use the old-fashioned mailing list then.
nanonyme: Or bookmark cgit. :) Works too.
nanonyme: Thanks again, I'll go back to silently monitor changes.
yangman: egbert: I was confused because I don't see it. just going by the reg doc and header files, and it wasn't clear that for register names shared between r5xx and r6xx only the latter is defined
CCob: Can anyone tell me if the HDMI audio branch is going to be merged any time soon?
Zajec: CCob: it's very old and it's bad cond to merge
Zajec: CCob: Christian has nicer code but working for one chipset only
Zajec: CCob: I'm working on RE to get new (my) chipset working
Zajec: after that maybe Christian will merge it... who knows :)
Zajec: *bad cond -> bad code
Zajec: Xv would make me work faster ;)
CCob: oh well
CCob: so with master currently there is no HDMI audio support, is that correct?
Zajec: һight
Zajec: right
Zajec: and origin/audio is extremly old :)
Zajec: (origin/audio is a branch)
CCob: any idea how to adjust overscan with the radeonhd
CCob: I have enabled radeonhd with the latest master but the top and left side cannot be seen
Zajec: doesn't know anything about overscan
CCob: damn
Zajec: however try to wait a little for someone else to post mail on ML
ndim: BTW... I tried something interesting yesterday: Suspend the laptop while running torcs.
ndim: Graphics came back up nicely, only audio was broken (which I blame pulseaudio for).
CCob: Found the problem with overscan
CCob: I set my TV on the HDMI input to One to One mapping and it's now fine. Funny how fglrx didn't do that
CCob: But who cares. fglrx is appalling
Obscene_CNN: ndim, what video adapter do you have in your laptop?
ndim: Obscene_CNN: Mobile X1400
Obscene_CNN: okay, I have a radeon 3100 in mine
Obscene_CNN: I was hoping you coul;d give me some tips but I guess not :)
ndim: hehe
Zajec: wohoo
Zajec: will have access to HD3450 :)
Zajec: have to focus on that audio
Griffon26: I still can't believe that fglrx doesn't support 3870X2
Griffon26: not that I would use it if it did ;-)
Honk: btw.. can radeonhd do modesetting on 2x4850 in crossfire? (without getting accel of course ;P)
yangman: Honk: no crossfire support. I don't think anyone's actually reported what happens with multiples of the same card
Honk: yangman: yeah I know that there's no cf support, but could the driver use a single card? ;P
yangman: depends on what the card bios would do, I'm guessing. either modeset them independently, or one is automatically disabled
Honk: or fail completely? :]
Honk: that's why I'm asking ;P
yangman: I don't see why it would fail
yangman: try it
yangman: ;)
Honk: I would.. if I was past deciding if I should buy those cards ;P
yangman: do it. take one for the team
Honk: meh
Honk: I think I will.. gotta wait for my paycheck though
Honk: the decision would be a lot easier, if there was working 3d support *g*
