g3d: hi, Should I have radeon as a module in kernel when using radeonhd, or nothing at all?
g3d: right now my xorg log says: RADEONHD(0): RHDCSInit: CS for R600 requires DRI. and RADEONHD(0): Failed to initalize EXA; disabling acceleration.
udovdh: modprobe radeon
udovdh: then restart xorg
udovdh: and check exa etc
g3d: udovdh: lsmod shows radeon
udovdh: also drm?
g3d: udovdh: so I'm guessing two modules fight for the spot?
udovdh: no
udovdh: radeonhd is a driver for xorg
udovdh: radeon is a kernel module
g3d: yes, it shows both drm and radeon
udovdh: and the kernel has dri?
udovdh: what kernel btw?
g3d: 2.6.30
udovdh: hmmm
udovdh: should work
udovdh: works here, at least
g3d: strange thing is, my xorg log also says [drm] failed to load kernel module "radeon"
udovdh: CONFIG_DRM_RADEON=m
udovdh: CONFIG_DRM=m
udovdh: just rmmod radeon
udovdh: and rmmod drm
udovdh: then modprobe radeon
udovdh: and see dmesg then
g3d: I also don't have /dev/dri/card0
g3d: which is strange
udovdh: goes with the problem yo usee
udovdh: http://pastebin.com/d16ef03ab
udovdh: that is what drm should say
udovdh: when you modprobe radeon
g3d: ok, I'll have to restart, radeon is in use
g3d: thank you
g3d: where do you have your drm.ko and radeon.ko in /lib/modules ? ..../drivers/extra or .../drivers/gpu/... ?
g3d: ok, I think I've solved it. I had two sets of *.ko in lib/modules, one under drivers/extra, and one under drivers/gpu which must've conflicted
