Nightwulf|work: hi all
king_tut: Hi all. I've a quick question about the radeonhd driver on the 780g platform (HD 3200). Specifically, have people tended to find the driver is stable and happy with Myth (the proprietary driver appears to be having issues)? Also, does the radeonhd driver support (if support is needed) audio out via HDMI?
libv: king_tut: when we find some time, we will review the patch for hdmi that is floating around
libv: king_tut: but currently we are all bogged down in other work
king_tut: No probs, cheers for the reply. I don't mind testing it out tonight if you can point me at the patch?
Zhenech: king_tut, it's on the ml

king_tut: Ah, cheers for that. I'll have a play.
Zhenech: it's told to just work
Zhenech: but i dont have any hdmi enabled hardware here to play with
king_tut: Zhenech: Well, it's patched and compiled, I'll have to wait til this evening (now+4 hours) to see what happens. Will report back here if I have success.
Zhenech: king_tut, it would be best if you would report to the ml
Zhenech: there such things wont be forgotten too fast :)
king_tut: lol, no probs, will do :)
doseryder: Hi, I need help installing/configuring the radeonhd
doseryder: I'm using Hardy Heron, and when I enable Proprietary ATI accelerated drivers, after reboot I'm forced (prompted) to choose low graphics mode
doseryder: I also tried to follow the example provided in man aticonfig
doseryder: When I tried to set modes for the resolutions
doseryder: it returned an error
doseryder: fongkwan@ubuntu:~$ aticonfig --resolution=0,1920x1200,1280x1024
doseryder: error at set screen resolution : screen0 does not exist
adamk: doseryder, If help with fglrx, you need to ask on #ati.
doseryder: adamk I have a HD2600 AGP card, i want to get it working, what do you suggest?
doseryder: HD2600 is uses RV630 chipset
adamk: doseryder, Well you can certainly try radeonhd or even just 'radeon' but neither support 3D acceleration on that card. If you need 3D acceleration, you'll need to get fglrx installed.
adamk: Installed and working :-)
doseryder: headache
doseryder: i do want 3d acceleration
doseryder: fongkwan@ubuntu:~$ aticonfig --resolution=0,1920x1200,1280x1024
doseryder: oops
rmh3093: are there any kernel modesetting docs to look at?
blindvt``: There must me a subtile difference between R5xxTMDSAMacro, R5xxTMDSBMacro, or is the A redundant resp. a leftover?
faultyjay: how can i get the HD3650 pkg?
m-c: hi, I am using the drivers for a HD3650
m-c: I found these two links useful, faultyjay ... oh, he's gone already
m-c: grr
Tanktalus: is anxious for radeonhd to support compositing :-(
isum: How can I be certain that the radeonhd driver is using my add-on card GPU, and not the onboard GPU?
