Nightwulf|work: hi all
kk_: does radeonhd supports vsync?
Obscene_CNN: does it not sync with your monitor?
kk_: Obscene_CNN, im helping someone else, and it's seem it doesn't
Obscene_CNN: what chip do they have? R5xx,R6xx,7XX ?
kk_: Obscene_CNN, this is the log
Obscene_CNN: well that link is the xorg.conf
Obscene_CNN: have them add the following lines in the device section
Obscene_CNN: Option "AccelMethod" "exa"
Obscene_CNN: Option "DRI" "on"
kk_: this is the log http://pastebin.com/m3dc84784
kk_: this is without the dri option
Obscene_CNN: its the xorg.conf not the log :/
kk_: lizz, past your log and xorg.conf here
lizz: this is a xorg.conf http://pastebin.com/m4d226a15
lizz: this is a log xorg http://pastebin.com/m3511792f
lizz: kk_, it's a funerla channel?
lizz: funeral channel?
MostAwesomeDude: What's a funeral channel?
Obscene_CNN: I'm looking through your log
lizz: ops...excuse me...
lizz: Obscene_CNN, thanks i wait you
Obscene_CNN: first off I noticed that your monitors say they only support 1280x1024@75Hz at the highest resolution.
lizz: i have a samsung Syncmaster 2253BW
Obscene_CNN: some of the video modes you define in your xorg.conf exceed 1280x1024
lizz: remove this?
yangman: kk_: radeonhd doesn't have the EXAVSync option. that's a radeon option
Obscene_CNN: oops, I was wrong it does support higher resolutions
Obscene_CNN: 1680 x 1050 is its highest resolution
Obscene_CNN: wishes he had his laptop with him
Obscene_CNN: lizz, try this xorg.conf http://pastebin.com/m10258b9f
kk_: lizz, prova quello xorg.conf
Obscene_CNN: I guess lizz has it fixed or my xorg.conf borked his computer good ;)
Obscene_CNN: if this gets him up and running we need him to switch to a 2.6.30 kernel to get DRI and accelleration working
kk_: i think he is already on .30 kernel
Obscene_CNN: his log said he had the 2.6.29 kernel
kk_: mm ok, so he does not upgraded the system :D
shepherd: Greetings, I'm using a "ATI Technologies Inc RS690M [Radeon X1200 Series]" with the radeonHD driver, and I'm getting very low performance in 3d applications ( unusable ), is there some kind of work around for this problem to get the performance I should be?
MostAwesomeDude: shepherd: RS690 are kind of tricky. There's been a few improvements lately that will eventually trickle down.
MostAwesomeDude: But no, we don't ship drivers with a "make shit slow for people with RS690" switch.
shepherd: Yea, I was just making sure.
shepherd: Hehe :p
shepherd: Alright thanks MostAwesomeDude. Anything I can try and work with now? or just I just have to be patient
kevin06: r5** bug with games 3d
MostAwesomeDude: shepherd: You can try the current Mesa from git, but it's kind of unstable.
kevin06: freeze xorg
shepherd: MostAwesomeDude: Thanks
kevin06: bug coming 2008
kevin06: no patch
Obscene_CNN: there is an unofficial patch for the ConspireToMakeShitNotWorkForRS690Owners option though
bridgman: Obscene_CNN; isn't that "UnverifiedFeatures" ?
kevin06: Obscene_CNN, http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18097 an idea for this bug ?
