Nightwulf|work: hi all
junior: well ppl my 4850x2 is almost working at its best with the latest radeon git snap buuuuut
junior: latest git drm.ko radeon.ko kms modules generate undefined symbols in ttm.ko someone know how to fix it?
junior: or where can i get latest ttm git snapshot. i really dont want to recompile my kernel
yangman: from 2.6.31 staging?
junior: mmm i can te fucker kernel to compile correctly eith gcc4 let me hunt some patchies or try a reverse patch
yangman: lots of things are being merged into drm for 2.6.31, so it may not be usable until a much later rc. I suggest sticking with 2.6.30
junior: thats what i want im asking in dri devel to see i can get a cvs snap from ttm code which is a lot easier
junior: radeonhd is great btw 4850x2 each 4850 handling a screen with a beatiful exa artifact free screens
junior: and blazing fast
junior: now only wait for crossfire docs realize and let fglrx in the past (fglrx is such an ugly and evil piece code)
Obscene_CNN: you could make it faster in 2d
junior: how?
Obscene_CNN: try and apply the patch found here http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=271923
Obscene_CNN: It would be nice if you could do some bench marks before and after
junior: mmm you know if this patch was in git branch already?
Obscene_CNN: it isn't.
Obscene_CNN: it won't be either because it makes the code to cryptic and hard to manage
junior: ok ill patch my git brach with that patch and test XD thx
junior: damn
Obscene_CNN: try gtkperf with 1000 iterations
junior: but im using radeon git let me see if the patch actually works cuz radeonhd doesnt see the 4850x2
Obscene_CNN: oh..... I thought you were using radeonhd
junior: but it shouldnt be that diff code base
Obscene_CNN: sorry
Obscene_CNN: it might be different enough that the patch won't apply
junior: np i tried for god i did but seems that branch r7xx is in radeon only cuz even pciids are missing in radeonhd
junior: im c++ dev anyway it shouldnt be that hard to get the patch working if the codebase is not too diff
junior: the prob maybe is more git vs 1.2.5 code diff
Obscene_CNN: my patch might apply cleanly to radeonhd's latest git
Obscene_CNN: has been to busy to keep up his patch with git pulls
junior: ill test it today and post my numbers tomorrow or saturday
Obscene_CNN: okay
Obscene_CNN: got a meeting
junior: bb
LightAndDarkness: hi
