atokhy1: Hello, whenever I start X with radeonhd and xorg-server 1.5, The screen will fade into a green color, then into a purple color... it looks like a very cool screensaver\
atokhy1: Then the screen stays that way when switching between VTs
atokhy1: until I power cycle
atokhy1: The kernel/input doesn't hang, since I can switch to a VT, log in as root, and reboot the system (without really knowing whats printed to the screen)
ttoom: after upgrade to xorg-server 1.5.3-r5, the speed of radonhd drivers seems speed down dramatically
Zajec: ttoom: I can't help you, but I'm sure you need to specify chipset, is this 2D or 3D, accel method for 2D, way of benchmarking, etc.
Zhenech: libv, oh well, I have the hardware, thus I'd like to be able to use it, even if not often since most TVs today have VGA/DVI/HDMI in
airlied: Zhenech: I think we need more info from ATI on the scaler
airlied: Zhenech: I got one r500 working by just tracing fglrx tv-out setup :)
libv: Zhenech: ati isn't much interested.
Zhenech: mkay then :(
airlied: Zhenech: atom_rv515_force_tv_scaler just replays the fglrx scaler setup, code
airlied: but I don't know how well it worked on other r5xxs
airlied: and my r580 has a wierd connector I can't find the cable for
airlied: most of my r600s just worked fine with the atombios scaler setup
libv: well, the story about a year ago was very interesting. agd5f, then i believe, still doing the work on radeon in his spare time officially, spent some time on getting the tv-out working. The next status call we said "fine, let's cooperate on that", and suddenly mr bridgman changed tac again and said it wasn't high priority and they couldn't get the information anyway.
Zajec: libv: IIRC you are not working on radeonhd anymore, right?
Zajec: libv: could you check bug report http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18016 if there is any tip about issue you can post for radeonhd developers to help solving that?
libv: Zajec: i have no access to hw anymore and little motivation to get back into that political beesnest again.
libv: Zajec: it's an issue with the pll setting code is what we thought, beyond that, i have no idea yet without reproducing it and touching pll code/registers and related things directly.
Zajec: ok, thanks
libv: ah, rv620/635.
libv: this is where the beautifully separated hw blocks got mucked together on the pll side.
libv: who could've forseen that this would make the hw less predictable
osiris__: airlied: any problems with this swtcl rewrite patch? maybe I should split it?
test1234s: Is there anything in recent radeonhd drivers to stop the fan from running at full speed ? I have a RV770 here.
test1234s: Is there anything in recent radeonhd drivers to stop the fan from running at full speed ? I have a RV770 here.
yangman: test1234s: no power management or fan control yet
test1234s: thx.
sytse: hmmm... is 2.6.29 alsa hdmi output for the hd 3870 broken, or am I doing something wrong? (like trying to get hdmi audio out of a dell 4807WFP)
sytse: I did enable the output in alsamixer
iws: hello all. I've got an FireMV 2260 card which I'm trying to make work. (I'm running Ubuntu Hardy). I built radeonhd-1.2.4 myself. In my xorg.0.log, I get "card information has invalid connector information"
iws: I'm guessing the error above is what is causing the card not to work. Any ideas how to fix it?
iws: here is the output of rhd_conntest -d on my card, with a single DVI display connected (through a DisplayPort adapter): http://www.mmarray.org/~iws/95CF.1002.2143.vga.rom
iws: note that vesa is working (the card appears to be fine), it just doesn't work at the right resolution, etc.
iws: I'm heading out now. If you need anything else, leave a message here and I'll get back to you in the morning
