agd5f: the 3D side of the r5xx chips are very similar to the r3xx/r4xx chips. out initial 3D info drop should be beneficial for all r3xx-r5xx cards.

osiris_: glisse: I'm trying to understand gallium arch, and have a few questions. According to xds slides winsys layer should implement buffer management and command submission. doesn't drm do that already?
glisse: osiris_: drm do that but gallium driver does have to know about drm or anyothers things
glisse: a gallium driver ask for an interface in its directory this is i915_winsys.h for instance
glisse: and it's up to the winsys layer to implement this interface, on linux this will use drm
glisse: but if you are on windows or elsewhere your winsys layer will use somethings else
