bgoglin: airlied: would it be easy to prefix all EDID reading and related messages in the log with the corresponding output names? I am sometimes lost when there are multiple outputs connected
umtc: i've got some more documentation about the one pixel black line in XV output, i'm uploading it now
umtc: http://aflist2.googlepages.com/xvbug.html
MrCooper: umtc: have you tried playing with the calculations in RADEONDisplayVideo() and maybe its caller?
kde-devel: hi all
kde-devel: I have a radeon mobility xpress x1150 video card
kde-devel: i would like to know the state of my video card with the radeon driver
kde-devel: do i have 3d accel?
bgoglin: i don't think so
kde-devel: it it based on r400 chip so why it doesn't work
bgoglin: x1150 isn't a r500 or so?
kde-devel: it is mobility
kde-devel: so i think it's based on r400
bgoglin: what's its pci id ?
kde-devel: what is the command for it?
kde-devel: 01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS485 [Radeon Xpress 1100 IGP]
bgoglin: lspci -n
kde-devel: what i wrote was ok?
bgoglin: no :) lspci -n or -nn will give you 2 4-digits values (vendor id + device id)
kde-devel: i can't find it with lspci -n
kde-devel: can i paste the output?
bgoglin: lspci -n -s 01:05.0
kde-devel: 01:05.0 0300: 1002:5975
bgoglin: ok it might work then
bgoglin: but 3d on xpress is far from perfect
bgoglin: i have been confused by your "x1150", i thought about radeon x1150 which is in the r500 range
kde-devel: ok then
kde-devel: can you point me to a tutorial to compile and install the latest radeon driver
kde-devel: i'm on ubuntu
bgoglin: kde-devel: we have a git snapshot from december 23rd in debian, do you want it? for i386?
kde-devel: yes
kde-devel: i have amd64
bgoglin: try ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/x/xserver-xorg-video-ati/xserver-xorg-video-ati_6.7.198~git20071223.ad3325f6-1_amd64.deb
bgoglin: hum actually which Xserver do you have? ubuntu may have only 1.3 while this package needs xserver-xorg-core 1.4
kde-devel: hmm let me see
kde-devel: how do i see wich version i'm using?
bgoglin: dpkg -s xserver-xorg-core
kde-devel: i think i have 1.3 :Version: 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-12ubuntu8
kde-devel: should i try to update to 1.4?
bgoglin: no
bgoglin: you should rebuild a driver, it's easy
kde-devel: what do you mean?
bgoglin: use http://bgoglin.livejournal.com/10936.html and replace 'intel' with 'ati'
bgoglin: I have to go now
kde-devel: ok
kde-devel: thank for the support
kde-devel: *thanks
sciurius: Good evening
airlied: bgoglin: non-trivial, the EDID code doesn't know which output.
airlied: bgoglin: I thought we printed the output name before the EDID..
airlied: if not we porbably should..
